Cafe Oratnek

Inside Cafe Oratnek
If you meet up with your friends often to have brunch, Café Oratnek is a MUST to go place. It is a Japanese and a bit of an Australian twist fusion café located in Redfern, Sydney. The café has both outdoor and indoor seatings with a beautiful view of the park. A lot of my friends recommended me to this place and told me that it is one of the best brunch café/restaurant in Sydney. I went with a friend to try their famous ‘Pork Fillet Katsu sandwich’.

Omurice and Pork Katsu Sandwich
My friend and I were so hungry and was exhausted from a long walk to the station to the café, so we ordered two different dishes to share. We ordered the Classic Omurice $19, and their signature dish Pork Fillet Katsu sandwich, $13. You will be amazed with the quality of the food, and the amount of the food. At first, I thought the Omurice (fried rice) was a bit expensive, but it was worth the price. The egg that covered the rice was so moist, and the rice with fried vegetables had a nice sweet and savoury combination.  The Pork fillet inside the sandwich was so thick and juicy. The outside of the Pork Katsu fillet is very crispy and the inside was so juicy. It had a touch of barbeque sauce with crispy slice cabbage inside the sandwich. $13 for a sandwich is pretty cheap and worth it.

Matcha (green tea) Lamington
After finishing off the amazing food, we ordered the Matcha (green tea) Lamington for dessert. Café Oratnek is also famous for their Matcha (green tea) lamington. The cake was also very moist and not too sweet. It just melts inside your mouth!

I highly recommend you try this café and order the Pork Fillet Katsu Sandwich! It was very delicious.
